This is for users with wiTech error message “Registration is needed”, used with Micropod 2 clone for Chrysler diagnostic/programming.

Device with serial number … is not registered. Please check the knowledge base to determine how to register a device:….
The solution:
In detail…
Open wiTECH Diagnostic Application Properties
Open File Location
Go to the local disk C:/Program Files (x86)/DCC Tools/wiTECH/client
Select XML file: app-config and open it via Notepad
Edit “value” here. Change a number (any one you like)
Save data
If you can not save data, it means you need to set the permisson.
Right click the file: app-config.html, and click secutiry
then click users (user-pc\users), set the permission to full control, then click ok
and then follow the former steps to operate again to change number.
Then re-open wiTECH application
When the messages pops up again, just close it
wiTECH works like a charm
